Biography
Dr. Chatterjee is Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Medical Microbiology and Immunology at Creighton University and Adjunct Associate Professor (Clinical) of Pediatrics at the University of Nebraska, College of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. She is also the Hospital Epidemiologist at Children’s Hospital in Omaha.
Dr. Chatterjee was born in India and attended high school at the Army Public School in New Delhi, India. She received her M.B.B.S. (M.D.) from the Armed Forces Medical College at Pune University in India. Dr. Chatterjee earned her Ph.D. at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska and conducted post-doctoral research in neonatology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She completed her residency in pediatrics followed by Pediatric Infectious Diseases Fellowship training at Creighton University/University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
Dr. Chatterjee has received numerous research awards. Her research interests include vaccine development for Human Papilloma Viruses, other pediatric vaccines, hospital epidemiology, community-acquired methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, inhibition of H. pylori by nutraceuticals and antibiotic resistance.
Several of her most recent publications include: Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus: an increasing problem in children; Immunizations for Patients with Metabolic Disorders; Inhibition of Helicobacter pylori by various berry extracts with increased susceptibility to clarithromycin; Cefdinir: An oral alternative to parenteral cephems; Impact of Surveillance Rounds on Adherence to Infection Control Policies and Procedures at a Children’s Hospital; Vaccine and Immunization Resources on the World Wide Web.
