Discussant: Shirley H. Brown, MS, JD, Board member of the National Breast Cancer Coalition representing the Women of Color Breast Cancer Survivors' Support Project, Los Angeles, CA.

Ms. Brown began her advocacy work after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 1994, realizing immediately that she wanted to make a difference and provide hope for the future for African American women to be involved, knowledgeable and included in the decision making process about breast cancer and to have access to quality health care.
