Who watches the system? Who should provide critical and ethical review of healthcare systems and institutions—including policies, practices, and composition? Should healthcare ethics committees perform this role? Is such a role ethically appropriate and practically feasible? How? What? Is there a place for activism or advocacy? This roundtable will consider these questions in light of the evidence of extensive healthcare disparities.
