Developing trusted and long lasting relationships is key to successful community research projects. This presentation will include examples of strategies that are currently being used to inform and recruit members of the public into research.
Beth is an Associate Professor, SON and Faculty Associate, CHPE. She serves as one of the 21-member Council of Public Representatives (COPR) Advisory Council to the Director of NIH, Dr. Zerhouni. The current focus areas of COPR are 1) researcher and community education in community engagement, 2) communicating NIH's health messages to the public, and, 3) getting public input into COPR.
Siobhan is the Community Outreach Liaison for the National
Network of Libraries of Medicine MidContinental Region and is
located at Creighton's Health Sciences Library. Her role is to
work in the six states the NN/LM MCR encompasses to find ways
for communities and libraries to partner on projects that have
the goal of the elimination of health disparities. For a
